God is good and real. 11/1/2020

God is good and real. This week I felt him leading and filling my mouth to inspire the young women and my family. I have felt him speak to me and through me and fill my mouth with the things he would have me say.

I have been thinking about:

Daniel 3:17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

My favorite part of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego's testimony and story is "But if not". I know God is good and answering my prayers even when the answer is no. He is aware of all and over all and is taking care of all the details and needs of my heart.

I need to repent of my slothfulness in making time to study scriptures and kneeling prayers. I know this is where all good things in my life start. Spending time with the Lord strengthens my soul and connects me to Him and I become enough to meet the important work He asks me to do.

I am trying to be content and find joy in what I do have.  In the blessings and beauty and healing that we do have rather than letting those things that remain broken discourage and weaken my faith.

Hymn 108

3. In the midst of affliction my table is spread.

With blessings unmeasured my cup runneth o’er.

With perfume and oil thou anointest my head.

Oh, what shall I ask of thy providence more?

Oh, what shall I ask of thy providence more?

Oh how this is true. My cup truly runneth over with blessings.

The blessings I can see today

1. The remodel of my home. I love the light and cleanness that surrounds me! I love the blessing of beautiful things and a more temple like home.

2. I love the temple and love that before quarantine I was blessed to be an ordinance worker and memorize the words of the ordinances so I can remember and be blessed while the temples are closed.

3. I love nature and the mountains. I love that our family was able to go to the Uintah's and draw near to God.

4. I love my family and that we have been blessed to know of Jesus Christ and his goodness and power in our lives

5. I love the scriptures and find comfort and guidance there always

6. Being called to Young Women and being near the amazing girls as they prepare to launch into adulthood. I love seeing them after 4 years and the growth and strength they have gained. It reminds me of Alma 17:2-3 and the joy of being reunited with friends who have grown in the gospel!
